The following 30 minute Outreach programs are the perfect way to add Hands On! fun to your classroom, festival, ministry, or special event.

Magnetic Attraction (K-4th)
Learn how magnets work, where they come from, and how the Earth is a magnet. Test various items for magnetism, play magnet games, and create your own magnetic maze to challenge a friend. (GLE 0107.12.1, 0207.12.1, 0307.12.1, 0407.12.1)
Creepy Crawlies (K-6th) *L
Get up close and personal with some of our Hands On! creatures. Meet a leopard gecko and a Madagascar hissing cockroach - you can even have the change to pet! Learn interesting facts about food and habitat, find out how these animals survive in the wild, and the important roles they play in the environment. Colorboom! (1st-6th)

Fun With Polymers (1st-6th)
Explore the world of polymers by making your own silly putty! Learn about what a polymer is and how we use them every day. (GLE 0007.9.1, 0007.9.2, 0107.9.1, 0107.9.2, 0107.9.3, 0307.9.2)
Gone with the Wind (2nd-6th) *N
Learn about gravity, air resistance, surface area and other properties of physics with our famous wind tubes. Create an "aircraft" from recycled materials and send it up for a teat flight. Will your creation fly or fall? (GLE 0007.11.1, 0107.11.1, 0307.11.1, 0307.11.2)
Pirate Science (2nd-6th) *L
Yaarr Matey! Discover the basics that every pirate needs to know, such as density and how a ship keeps its balance in this interactive program. (GLE 0207.12.2, 0307.11.1)
Amazing Air Pressure (2nd-6th)
Did you know that you have 14 pounds of air pressure pushing on every inch of your body? In this outreach, students will learn about the three states of matter and properties of air through fun, interactive demonstrations ending with vacuum sealing a teacher! Heart Smart (K-5th) *N
The heart is one of our most important organs. Find out everything you need to know about circulation and the chambers of your heart. Make your own vial of fake blood! ((HEALTH 3.1, 3.2, 3.3; GLE 0007.2.2, 0107.1.1, 0107.1.2, 0207.1.1)
Can You Hear me Now? (K-5th) *N
Discover some of the smallest bones in our bodies – the ones in our ear! Learn about sound and how Alexander Graham Bell used sound in many of his inventions, and find out how sound gets into our brains. Test our singing rod, crystal water glasses, and boomwhackers! Art Around the World (1st-5th) *N
Get your passport ready for a whirlwind trip exploring art from all over the world! Find out how people use art in other cultures and make your own masterpiece. Explore the world of art in places like China, Australia, Egypt, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the American Southwest. This outreach is designed as an 8-week course, but you can choose as many as you like! Book multiple programs and receive a discount. Indicate preferred countries when reserving. Go with the Flow (3rd-6th) *N
Get a first-hand look at what happens to water in the environment with our large 3-dimensional watershed EnviroScape. Pollution and runoff are colorfully apparent when rain falling over the landscape carries soil (cocoa), chemicals (colored drink mixes), and oil (cocoa and water mixture) through a watershed to a body of water. nside Out: Animal Dissections (3rd-8th)
Investigate the anatomy of various preserved specimens through dissection. Use the specimen to compare vertebrates and invertebrates as well as human vs. animal anatomy. Possible specimens for dissection include: owl pellets, squid, frog, shark, pig/sheep heart, fetal pig. **This program is approximately 1 hour long and extra cost is involved to purchase specimens. Price varies depending on specimen and number of attendees. This program must be book a minimum of 4 weeks in advance to ensure availability of supplies. Bio-fuels Investigation (5th-8th) *N
Investigate the latest in energy as you learn about the process of making bio-fuels. Test the energy in different fuel sources, look at plant cell walls using our digital microscope, and run our hydrogen and solar cars in this hands-on lesson. **This program is approximately 1 ½ hours long. Cost is $100 per program plus roundtrip mileage. (GLE 0407.1.1, 0407.7.2, 0507.9.1, 0607.2.2, 0707.7.5)
Outreach programs cost $60 per program (unless otherwise indicated) plus roundtrip mileage. Help us to cut costs and protect the environment: book multiple programs for the same day in different classrooms or neighboring schools.
