Art Studio Schedule
Cezanne Still Life: Paul Cezanne was a famous artist with a very distinct style who often painted still life. Learn about the color wheel by using warm and cool colors to create still life in the style of Cezanne.
Treasure!: Celebrate our new exhibit, Treasure!, by designing a gold coin you might find if you found buried treasure!
If You Were an Animal…: The Great Sphinx sculpture in Egypt has the head of a person with the body of a cat. Draw your head onto the body of an animal that you would like to be!

Thursday, March 11th, 9:30-10:45 am - Owl Pellet Dissection
Owls are amazing creatures that swallow their prey whole. Learn what owls eat as you dissect an owl pellet and reconstruct the skeleton found inside it. Ages 8+, cost $8. Pre-registration is required two weeks in advance and payment is due upon registration. Friday, March 12th - Sunday, March 21st - What’s a Polymer?
You might be caught rubbernecking when you see the fun experiments we do this week in the Eastman Discovery Lab. Learn all about polymers in recognition of the anniversary of the patent of the rubber band. Stretch a polymer chain and even make your own silly putty! The Discovery Lab will be open by announcement periodically throughout each day.
Friday, March 19th, 3:30 - 5:00 pm - Treasure!Artshop
Join us as we create all things Treasure! Tour our feature exhibit Treasure! and create your own art treasures! Cost is $10 ages 6-9. Pre-registration is required by March 5th. Payment is due at time of registration. Maximum capacity for this artshop is 15 kids. Tuesday, March 23rd - Thursday, April 1st - You Are What You Eat
Have you ever heard the phrase, “You are what you eat”? Join us in the Eastman Discovery Lab as we honor National Nutrition Month with our super-sized friend, Mr. Stuffee. Learn all about appropriate food choices and get a hands-on super-sized look at Mr. Stuffee’s digestive system. The Discovery Lab will be open by announcement periodically throughout each day. Saturday, March 27th, 10:15 - 3rd Annual Hot Tea & Totes - See Jane Bid & Garden!
Be sure to join us in your Sunday best for an auction celebrating women ages 6 to 96. Guests will be treated to tea and brunch by Miss Melanie’s Tea Room, a short presentation, and a auction of unique and designer purses and tote bags each holding a special surprise.
