4th Annual Golf Classic - A Huge Success!

The Hands On! Regional Museum 4th Annual Summer Golf Classic, held July 26th at the Johnson City Country Club was a huge success raising over $16,000, benefitting the Museum's programs and exhibits.

Players from all over the region braved the heat and were treated to goody bags filled with items donated by area businesses; breakfast biscuits provided by Hardee's; lunch by Gardner's Honey Hotdogs; an ice cream provided by Food City #601; door prizes; and a fun day for everyone.

The Time & Pay team took first place in the Men's flight: Steve Scheu, Rex Parris, Jim Fields, and Bryan Sangid. In the Women's flight, the first place team was Sador Black, Marilyn Martin, Tammy Jones, and Jan Compton. Additional contest winners included: Longest Drive - PJ Johnson and Celia McIntosh, Closest to the Pin - Ben Treadway and Janna Scarborough, and Putting Contest - Pam Williams.

The Hands On! Regional Museum Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers would like to thank the supporters and contributors to this event, making this year's tournament the best ever for the Museum.

21st Annual Festival of Trees
Hands On! Regional Museum opened its doors to a sell out crowd for the 21st Annual Festival of Trees Night of Lights Gala on Friday, November 20th. As the Museum’s largest annual fundraiser, the Gala raised $55,000.00 that will help support educational programming and exhibits that were enjoyed by over 81,000 visitors last year.

Gala emcee Josh Smith, of WJHL NewsChannel 11, welcomed guests and introduced auctioneer Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey. Attendees bid on a variety of items during the silent and live auctions, were entertained with songs by "Hall & Bowie," enjoyed dinner catered by Main Street Catering, and danced the night away to music performed by The MJ Becks Band.
