Hot Tea & Totes An Auction Celebrating Women
Hands On! Regional Museum held the First Annual Hot Tea & Totes: An Auction Celebrating Women ages 6 to 96 on April 5, 2008. The highly successful event doubled the fundraising goal generating nearly $20,000.00 for the museum's programs and exhibits. The auction offered sixty purses, totes, and other fun bags of all types and for all budgets, each with a special surprise gift. The event was a sell out with over 200 people in attendance.

Ladies and young girls of all ages were greeted curbside at The Charles by the Bank of Tennessee Branch Manager valet parkers. Miss Melanie of Miss Melanie’s Tea Room & Gourmet Tea Emporium provided brunch, sponsored by Ferguson Enterprises, and a delightful presentation on tea etiquette. Guests bid on a silent auction showcase of 54 purses and bags.

The voice auction, hosted by emcee Sara Diamond, WJHL News Channel 11 Anchor, included specialty purses, a pearl bracelet, and a mahogany buffet.

Hands On! invites you to next year's event on Saturday, April 4, 2009. Join in the fun! For more information, please contact Kristine Carter at 928-6508 x.108 or kristine@handsonmuseum.org.
