Wednesday, November 8th – National STEM/STEAM Day

Our feature exhibit, Make It. Take It. will be open from 10am-4pm.  Join us to tinker, make, craft, build, design, learn, and DIY with our array of materials.  We provide the materials and tools, you provide the inspiration, creativity, and fun!  We will have extra “challenges” throughout the day to test your ingenuity and skill!  Optional LED diode and battery set or mini hovercraft kit available for purchase at $2 each, while supplies last.

Saturday, November 18th – Tesla Shows for Guinness World Record Day

Did you know that Hands On! has a Guinness World Record Holding Musical Bi-Polar Tesla Coil?!?!  Today only, in honor of Guinness World Record Day, Tesla Experience tickets are $1 for everyone (with paid Museum admission) or $3 for the Tesla Experience show only (no Museum admission.) Shows at the top of each hour beginning at 10am.  As always, children under 3 are free.  In addition, try out some fun and silly record setting challenges to see how you compare to the record setters.

Saturday, November 25th, 10:30am-2:30pm – Gettin’ Crafty Pop-in Activity

Stop by anytime between 10:30-2:30 to design, paint, and decorate your choice of a clear fillable ornament or a wooden picture frame.  Children must be supervised at all times. Materials fee of $3 per person, while supplies last.

Saturday, December 23rd, 10:30am-2:30pm – Winter Wonderland Pop-in Activity

Stop in anytime between 10:30-2:30 to test your engineering skills by building your own graham cracker “gingerbread” house and make your own polymer snow to take home.  Children must be supervised at all times. Materials fee of $3 per person, while supplies last.

Saturday, November 25th, 10:30am-2:30pm – Owl Pellet Pop-in Activity

Why give turkeys all the attention this weekend when owls are such a hoot?  Stop by anytime between 10:30-2:30 for the opportunity to dissect and take home a real owl pellet of your own.  Dissection materials and charts provided.  Children must be supervised at all times. Materials fee of $4 in advance or $6 at door per person, while supplies last. To reserve your owl pellet, email reservations@handsonmuseum.org by Wednesday, November 15th.

Fossil & Artifact ID Nights at Gray Fossil Site & Museum

Tuesday, 4:00pm-6:00pm:  November 28th
You don’t have to be a paleontologist to find fossils. Identifying them is a different story.  Bring any kind of rock, fossil, artifact, or mineral to Fossil & Artifact ID Night, and scientists at the museum will provide space for the study of these finds. There will be an archarologist, paleontologist, and geologist on site. The event is free and open to the public but does not include admission to exhibits.

Saturday, December 23rd, 10:30am-2:30pm – Miniature Terrarium Pop-in Activity

Looking to brighten up your home or office this winter? On the hunt for a last minute gift?  Stop by anytime between 10:30-2:30 to make your own miniature Mason jar terrarium.  Children must be supervised at all times. Materials fee of $3 per person, while supplies last.
